When setting up your Strada Agent, using the fastest computer available as your host machine will provide the best experience. Strada needs to convert video files on-the-fly for remote access, so processing power matters significantly.

Ideal Hardware Options
- Apple Silicon M Series machines are particularly well-suited as they have built-in hardware acceleration for video conversion
- Both laptops and desktop machines (Mac mini/Studio) work effectively
- If using a laptop, ensure it's plugged in and has proper ventilation
Power Settings
Configure your host machine to prevent sleep mode:
- Disable sleep mode in System Preferences/Settings
- For external drives, adjust settings to prevent drive sleep (System Preferences → Energy Saver → "Prevent hard disks from sleeping")
- Note: Some RAID systems have their own sleep settings that must be configured separately
Network Connections
- Always use a hardwired internet connection for your host machine
- Avoid Wi-Fi for the Agent computer to ensure stable, high-speed transfers
- Connect via Ethernet directly to your router or network switch
